MORE TIPS ON KITCHEN CABINET COLORS

Do you remember the previous post about how to choose kitchen cabinet colours?

If YES-read on for more related tips of the trade!

If NO- I say you go back and read again😊

ANYWAYS...

1)Whites work almost perfect in every kitchen no matter what the surroundings are! And DON'T FORGET;almost all countertop and backsplash materials work great with white cabinets.

2)Bright cabinet colours work best in smaller spaces whereas pastel tones glorify spacious kitchens.

3)Midtones are always safe either way, but they can look outdated very easily. So I say,be bold on the countertop or the backsplash or even both!

4)Lacquer finish has been very popular for years as it can easily be repainted for a brand new look. Personally, it has been my favourite for a really long time and I still can't get enough of it just because of the possible tones of shades.

5)Wood is usually the material of choice for anyone who is looking for a very cosier feel in the kitchen! Somehow , I find them nostalgic as they remind me of the old massive wood kitchens with large cabinets! But, of course many contemporary style cabinets are designed with real wood as well! I suggest using light to mid toned wood with less grains for a timeless look.

HOW TO : CHOOSE KITCHEN CABINET COLORS

All White or dark Gray or BOTH?

No matter what size it is , a kitchen is the center piece of any house. So, picking a cabinet color and style can be really exhausting while remodeling your new kitchen.Certainly, the style of the cabinets, either modern or classic is quite fundamental . Yet, for now I will go ahead and only blog about the colours and how to choose them.

Unless it is a totally new home you are building ,the existing color of the flooring and the walls should be the preliminary guides in your decision making .For example, let's say you have dark colored materials on the floor, then a subtle tone of light is always moving!

I always like the cabinet colors to rather blend in with the walls when the flooring is a dark material of any kind. This way you don't spoil the whole idea of creating a contrast! Never forget, eyes can easily get tired too 👀

However, mid tones on the floors , do not necessarily work well with dark colored cabinets. In this case, I suggest, you head for similar tones for the floor and the cabinets to achieve a elegantly uniform look.

Lighter floors, on the other hand, are usually easier to work with, as they can be combined perfectly with light colors and bright tones.

And guess WHAT?

You can even dare to use shiny metallic finishes for the cabinets if you keep the walls light.

Another great method I often prefer, is using two toned kitchen cabinets.

                                                   <<<<<WHEN & HOW>>>>>

Imagine dark floors and light walls, or vice versa and you don't know how to wrap them...

A great tip:Use two colours and preferably lean towards darker tones for the under counter cabinets  and lighter colours for the top units.
