BOOKSHELVES

aventuredeco.jpg

No home has life without BOOKS and no decoration is complete without a stylish BOOKSHELF.

There are many different shelving systems to consider when it comes to your books and their homes.

Today,I want to share some of my favorite wall mounted book shelving systems and the different materials used to build them.

WOOD

Wood is the main element for a majority of bookshelves, because, it can easily be sturdy enough with the right thickness of planks and application methods.

***Plus, books and wood are always family***

METAL
Metal is also an elegant material of preference.Metal can easily be folded and painted for different design options.

Lately,many bookshelves are made out
of metals of varying thickness. CNC cutting methods are sometimes used to create stylish patterns on the shlef or the side divisions.

GLASS

Glass is sometimes used as shelves or partitions. Rarely,a bookshelving system is designed  only with glass as the main material, because the shelves need to be made out of expensive thick glass to hold heavy weight of the books.

AND, of course, all of these basic materials can easily be combined to design a wall mounted BOOKCASE.
For instance,a shelving system can be made out of wood with metal or glass partitions or vice versa.
Either way,a BOOKSELF made of different materials will always be as interesting as a solid wood bookshelf as long as all details are carefully crafted.

MORE TIPS ON KITCHEN CABINET COLORS

Do you remember the previous post about how to choose kitchen cabinet colours?

If YES-read on for more related tips of the trade!

If NO- I say you go back and read again😊

ANYWAYS...

1)Whites work almost perfect in every kitchen no matter what the surroundings are! And DON'T FORGET;almost all countertop and backsplash materials work great with white cabinets.

2)Bright cabinet colours work best in smaller spaces whereas pastel tones glorify spacious kitchens.

3)Midtones are always safe either way, but they can look outdated very easily. So I say,be bold on the countertop or the backsplash or even both!

4)Lacquer finish has been very popular for years as it can easily be repainted for a brand new look. Personally, it has been my favourite for a really long time and I still can't get enough of it just because of the possible tones of shades.

5)Wood is usually the material of choice for anyone who is looking for a very cosier feel in the kitchen! Somehow , I find them nostalgic as they remind me of the old massive wood kitchens with large cabinets! But, of course many contemporary style cabinets are designed with real wood as well! I suggest using light to mid toned wood with less grains for a timeless look.

TIPS TO RESTYLE YOUR CEILINGS

Are you looking for inventive ways to style your home? Do you want to spruce up the look without accenting your walls?

Then it is time to spoil your ceilings❗️And when I say spoil, I don't just mean splurging on a pendant or a paint color. So come on and read to see my tips to style them up a bit.

JAZZY WORKPLACE Project by TESINTERIORS

Ceilings come in different sizes and shapes. Most houses usually have plain ones with coats of paint or even popcorn ceilings which almost any tasteful person would immediately upgrade. The major perspective for decision making is the height of your ceiling.High ceilings are in general an object of desire.Yet, you might want to scale it down for a cozy and complete look.

Here are some interesting ways to do it .Moulding is my favorite. You can use any material as long as it is safely constructed!Just make sure you will enjoy it when looking up...And trust me French know how to do it 👌

By the way, worship a ceiling if it withholds history! Luckily throughout the years I have come across such ceilings especially in restoration projects. For the FRESCO BRAUNSTEIN project, I clearly remember how thrilled I was when looking for a talent to restore the cracked painting.

Short ceilings can also be very attractive when tailored right! You might fear that they will be overwhelming when you restyle them. But don't worry because dressing your ceiling is going to give your space more depth instead! So , I would suggest you to go for figured wallpapers ,maybe mirrored tiles or even mix of colors! Just make sure you do not bring down the height with extra suspended beams or decorative features.

Some ceilings come with structural features on their own! They might be decorative enough or you can restyle a little with easy touch ups! I recommend painting if you want to expose the structure.Or you can even restore and leave them bare to honor the architectural elements .

DO NOT FORGET that attractions radiating from the center generally expand the room size whereas side trims set boundaries to your space.
